In the town of Formia, in the province of Latina, near the border of Lazio - Campania, the city service shall be made by ATP (Autoservizi Transportation Pontini) company founded in 1991. For some years the ATP, in addition to normal local urban services, tourist transport service is carried out in Italy and abroad, using coach Irisbus Domino, and Domino Iveco Orlandi GTS.
The lines are fourth, and depart from the square of the train station, heading in the fractions of Castellonorato (line A) and Penitro (line B). During school hours, however, not all lines arrive at the train station, in fact perform a different path from Penitro coming closer to the center of the country. The fleet is not very large, having a few lines, but it means we can meet very different, even quite elderly. On the line A girano autobus di medio/piccola lunghezza, come gli Europolis da 9 e 10.5 metri, mentre sulla linea B, la più frequentata e più lunga, girano autobus lunghi da 12 metri. E proprio qui possiamo incontrare i mezzi più datati. Nel 2007 l'ATP ha acquistato dall'ATAC di Roma ben tre autobus per rinnovare parzialmente il proprio parco mezzi. Parliamo di un'Iveco 471 Effeuno numero 3303, e due Iveco 480 Turbocity numeri 3468 e 3552, quest'ultima equipaggiata con porte rototraslanti. Purtroppo queste ultime due vetture ora sono ferme, utilizzate per asportare pezzi di ricambio, o per qualche raro servizio scolastico mattutino (una corsa alle 7.30). Nel corso del 2011, ci saranno anche qui delle novità. Infatti l'ATP ha acquistato da Milano due Iveco 491 Cityclass from 10 feet, perhaps to replace as many effeuno 10 meters, which is now not seen for months, or to replace Turbocity listed above. We will know more in the coming months when we will see them in service.

Compared to my previous visits Formia (August 2010) livery that had the Cursor and Europolis has changed. In fact, the first was white, but now have a blue band below the windows (almost in the style ATAC Rome, where the band era rosso scuro). I Cursor sono stati acquistati nuovi nel 2004, ed effettuano principalmente le linee A e B, alternati con gli Europolis (linea A) e Effeuno (linea B). Anche durante gli orari scolastici può capitare di trovarle sulla linea B, dove solitamente girano i 12 metri, ma ora che un'Effeuno e un Turbocity sono fermi per guasto, un Cursor e un'Europolis da 10.5 metri fanno qualche corsa sulla B.

Sulla linea B di ATP possiamo trovare le vetture più datate e interessanti. Questo Effeuno è uno degli ultimi prodotti in casa Iveco. Infatti è del 1990, ed is equipped with classic exchange Voith Diwa 851.2. Compared to other cars 12 meters, this one is definitely the best in the fleet, as the 480 are still due to failure, and the former 3303, working capital, but slightly smarmittato. According to the drivers, after the entry into service of Cityclass former Milan, some car will be decommissioned, but, being the only fleet of 12 meters, at least 2 effeuno remain in service, at least do some racing school.

When in 2007 the Turbocity still turned in the ATAC Rome, ATP Turbocity bought two from the capital in a rotary-traveling with the doors (this photo), and one with the classic folding doors. Last summer, ran regularly on the B line was not even during the school year, along with two other effeuno. Unfortunately today this car is only used for a race school in the morning (part 8 from the terminus of Penitro, to get to schools in the middle of form). When I learned of the sale of ATAC 3303 ATP car, I did not hesitate to get in Formia soon as possible to be able to see again after so long. The last time I saw this car was on the line 714 in Rome, in early 2007, assigned to the remittance Magliana. Inside the car, there are still all the plates he had when he was about to ATAC.
